About the Event
The WolfganG Strikes Again, presented by Musikiwest, features at its heart one of chamber music’s most beloved masterpieces: Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet. Leading this auspicious ensemble is José González Granero, celebrated principal clarinetist of San Francisco Opera. His remarkable versatility will be on full display not only as a performer, but also as a composer. The program includes his work Paisajes (Landscapes) and his arrangement of Manuel de Falla’s Chansons populaires espagnoles, both written for clarinet and string quartet—mirroring the instrumentation of the Mozart Quintet.
Musikiwest’s “WolfganG” of musical superheroes will also visit area classrooms in the days leading up to the concert, sharing this extraordinary music while inspiring meaningful conversations around collaboration and conflict resolution. This work is made possible through the generous support of donors like you. Thank you for helping us bring music, education, and inspiration to our community.
