Scroggins and Rose @ 7PM

Combining two lifetimes of commitment to craft, technique, and stylistic integrity, Scroggins & Rose create creative contemporary roots music with the expression and detail of classical music, the ebullient drive of fiddle music, and the thrilling virtuosity of both traditions. The duo was awarded the Freshgrass Album Fund for their album, Curios, released in 2020, and a grant from Intermusic SF for their upcoming release in 2023. In this concert Scroggins & Rose will share works from Alone/Together (2023) in which they explore new sonic possibilities with baritone mandolin and violin. This EP is inspired by humanity’s many months of collective isolation during the pandemic and subsequent emergence.

Scroggins & Rose is composed of two GRAMMY nominated musicians. Nashville based mandolinist Tristan Scroggins frequently plays at the Grand Ol’ Opry and was honored with a nomination for the International Bluegrass Music Association's Mandolin Player of the Year Award in 2021. Bay Area violinist Alisa Rose was GRAMMY nominated for her work with Quartet San Francisco, has served as an Ambassador of the State Department with the Real Vocal String Quartet, and teaches at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
