“Brilliant” (The New York Times) Soprano Marielle Murphy, a native of Carmel, CA, has performed on operatic and concert stages across the United States and Europe. In the fall of 2023, she made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Oscar in David Alden’s production of Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera, under the baton of Carlo Rizzi. Her varied repertoire includes the roles of Konstanze (The Abduction from the Seraglio) by Mozart, Cungegonde (Candide, Bernstein), Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos, Strauss), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro, Mozart) among many others. A frequent concert artist, she has performed such works as the Brentano Lieder by Richard Strauss, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Gabriel/Eve in Haydn’s Creation, Händel’s L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato, and is an avid recitalist.
