eMotion in Music @ 3PM

There is so much more to experience in a live performance than simply the music itself. For this unique event our musicians will present a diverse program in a vast array of styles. The acting principal oboe of the San Francisco Opera, Gabriel Young will perform the virtuosic Quartet in F Major by Mozart. In addition you will hear him in the delightful "Divertimento in C major " by Michael Haydn (Joseph's younger brother) for oboe, viola and cello. Luigi Boccherini compoased his string trio in D major Opus 14, G. 98 , which you will also hear, during a uniquely creative and happy time of his life. A brilliant cellist and prolific composer, he died in poverty and grief forgotten even by those he served.  Our program  journeys to present day with the music of Peteris Vasks with his Castillo Interiors for violin and cello. In this composition we will collaborate with the Carmel Dance festival resident company, Ballare Carmel in a work-in-progress choreographed by Filmmaker/Stanford Professor/Guggenheim Fellow Alex Ketley.
