About the Event
Arts Habitat Presents David Ligare at Arts in Progress
Monterey, California – Arts Habitat, a Monterey County non-profit, invites the public to an Arts in Progress presentation by renowned Carmel painter, David Ligare; at SandBox Sand City, 440 Ortiz Avenue, on Wednesday, August 30 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, and is a program in support of the Monterey County Artists Studio Tour, taking place October 8, 9 & 15, 16. Go to ArtsHabitat.org for Tour catalogs, maps, and more information.
Come get inspired by Ligare’s presentation of his artwork, influences and technique. His neo-classical works conceptually links ancient Greek philosophy to contemporary social needs. Through established painting tropes like the figure and the landscape, Ligare embeds tenets of Plato and Aristotle within deftly painted scenes allegorizing social issues such as literacy and homelessness.
Admission is free but reservations are recommended as space is limited.
