Burgundy's Gilded Women @ 7PM

As more and more glimpses of women begin to emerge from the mists of time, we begin to see a much different picture of the past than we’ve known.  Homage to heroes appears to have been a strong Burgundian tradition over the past 3000, and it comes down to us in an array of forms, from finely-spun threads woven into a woodland tapestry scene to tiny winged horses on intricate gold jewelry.

Burgundy brings wine to mind – that’s an integral part of the Burgundian legacy.  Through archeological discoveries we can discern other aspects of this ancient European family too.  A look at commemorations to 4 women over the past 3 millennia will give a sense of the beauty, artistry, knowledge and commitment to freedom of the Burgundian family throughout the ages.  Europe traditionally honors heroes by gilding their statues; these 4 women are pure gold!
